Position description
The Department of Earth and Planetary Science at the University of California, Berkeley under the supervision of Professor Daniel Stolper is seeking a Junior/Assistant Specialist to aid in the operation of isotope ratio systems for the measurement of the isotopic composition of CO2.
The laboratory studies the stable isotopic composition of molecules for reconstructions of past and present biogeochemical cycles and climate. The specialist will provide research support for the use of mass spectrometers and spectroscopy instruments including sample preparation, operation, and maintenance as well as laboratory upkeep and day-to-day operations of the laboratory.
The candidate is not expected to have prior experience on these instruments, and training will be provided.
