Position Overview:
The Public Relations Specialist will be responsible for garnering coverage for our clients. You will work with a team of professionals to provide strategic PR programs for our clients. The ideal candidate is motivated to pick up the phone and pitch media. Also, the candidate will be responsible for drafting and assisting in all written material for clients, including press releases, pitches, and award applications. The candidate should have a proven track record for placing clients in top-tier media in technology, entertainment, finance, and consumer brands.
Responsibilities:

● Regular contact with clients, both by email, phone and meetings
● Draft and assist in the creation of all written materials, including releases, award applications, and pitches (crisp and free of grammatical errors)
● Pitch media daily to obtain top-tier coverage for clients
● Build strong media lists (using Meltwater or Cision)
● Pull media clippings and track all content for clients
● Report to the Public Relations Manager and President of Public Relations

Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
● At least 2 years of experience in communications: in-house for companies or nonprofits, publishing, media, or journalism; PR agency experience preferred
● Published writer/journalist or has acquired press for previous clients around finance, technology, beauty, and consumer brands
● Can conceptualize, develop and produce client plans and client recommendations and present to clients, executives, and partners
● Effectively collaborate and gather input from peers, clients, and internal staff to improve strategies and adjust as needed
● Strong news savvy and knowledge of the media and events spanning verticals and issue areas
● Strong storytelling through op-eds, pitches, panel and keynote topics, and other materials that form strong overall narratives driven by client goals
● Versatile writer and editor with experience creating material for informal, conversational, and formal settings as necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $3,200.00 - $3,800.00 per month
