This position requires a highly organized individual who will primarily be responsible for project lifecycle management functions, financial analysis and ad hoc reporting involving high volume transactional programs. The Junior Financial Analyst will work in the Financial Operations department reporting to the Manager, Financial Operations. This position is based at the Cherry Hill, NJ corporate office, but remote work arrangements are possible.

What will you be doing?*

This position will be a key member of the Financial Operations team. Duties include:

  • Day-to-day management and processing of routine high volume transactional programs which will include:
  • Manage customer/project setup
  • Prepare invoices for submittal to customers, along with necessary backup and Accounts Receivable (AR) aging management and collection
  • Procurement (PO) - Create purchase requisitions in support of subcontractor and procurement activities and monitor spending to remain within approved budget
  • Accounts Payable (AP) – reviewing and collaborating with accounting team to ensure invoices are accurately entered and paid
  • Contract budgeting and planning
  • General Ledger journal entry processing and review
  • Maintain data within the ERP system including employee set up, timesheet password management and project related data clean up
  • Assists with reconciling assigned financial accounts, investigates questionable data, and recommends actions to resolve discrepancies. Brings issues to attention to senior staff and program managers
  • Maintain, update, edit and manage data and database systems
  • Prepare financial reports for Program Managers to discuss in monthly status meetings
  • Prepare program-related financial data for analysis, reconciliation and cyclical reporting utilizing Excel or Cognos
  • Create and maintain financial reports including financial dashboards and KPIs
  • Analyze plan versus actual data and their associated variances.
  • Ability to pull and manipulate data for ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Backup Systems Administration of Costpoint/Cognos (ie. user setup & maintenance)

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline with 1-2 years’ experience in business management, project management, financial management, business analysis
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively (both writing and verbally) with other departments and customers, both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to work remotely including a dedicated workspace
  • Ability to work independently and with flexibility in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Deltek Costpoint or Cognos experience is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
