Job Summary
To oversee and supervise electrical services staff and install, test, assemble, maintain, and repair electrical power, lighting, and communication systems to protect and enhance department assets.

Electrical Mechanic Supervisor

Job Summary
To oversee and supervise electrical services staff and install, test, assemble, maintain, and repair electrical power, lighting, and communication systems to protect and enhance department assets.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform Electrical Services Maintenance - Perform inspections of department assets for building code compliance and maintenance needs. Perform routine and emergency repairs of electrical systems including, but not limited to, electric and electronic wiring, appliances, equipment, apparatus, controls and fixtures.
- Project Planning and Review - Prepare estimates and material lists. Interpret blueprints, sketches and specifications. Create scopes-of-work; monitor and advise on contractor work.
- Administration - Process purchase requests, maintain logs and inventory supplies. Process work orders, review blueprints, building codes and technical manuals. Assist with project management; ensure relevant safety codes and regulations are implemented.
- Personnel Management - Participate in and recommend hiring of electrical services staff. Provide daily supervision including job assignments, performance appraisals and workforce development. Establish priorities to ensure the success of the electrical section and the department's strategies.
- Locate Utilities - Locate and identify buried underground electrical and communication utilities accurately and efficiently.
- Equipment Maintenance - Inspect and maintain all equipment and tools related to the performance of job duties.
- Budget Management - Prepare and monitor annual electrical services budget to ensure responsible fiscal management.
- Special Assignments and Projects - Participate on special project teams.
- Ability to properly or safely operate: vehicles, heavy machinery, hand tools, power tools, computers and standard office equipment.
- Ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 65 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Current residency within the State of Wisconsin required
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required and must be maintained throughout employment
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency required
- Five (5) years or more of work experience as a Journeyman Electrician required
- One (1) year or more of work experience with High Voltage systems required
- One (1) year or more of work experience in a Supervisory or Management role required
- Licensed Master Electrician in the State of Wisconsin required
- Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required
- Previous work experience with fire alarm, uninterruptible power source, HVAC control, frequency drive, and emergency generator systems preferred
- Previous work experience with blueprint design review preferred
- Knowledge of electrical codes and configurations preferred
- Knowledge of relevant safety codes and regulations preferred
