IT Computer Specialist - Help Desk Job at TechGlobal, Inc.
TechGlobal is seeking someone to be a part of the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) team. The candidate will generally be responsible for the following:
- Troubleshoot and resolve technology problems including hardware and software, network connectivity and peripheral compatibility.
- Administer Patch Management by reviewing vulnerability scans, testing software, deploying patches and software updates, and locate and mitigating patching automation issues.
- Resolve network issues including, domain accounts, CAC authentication, network access, and resource permissions.
- Manage data storage and administer backups and restores.
- Install equipment at offices, cubicles, and conference rooms, establish and test LAN connectivity, and uncrate, accept/test, burn-in computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other new peripheral equipment upon receipt. Including preparing workstation images.
- Install approved software on end user computers and other devices.
- Create and update standard operating procedures.
- Develop methods and procedures to improve efficient in operations.
- Provide audio visual support.
- Provide technical information to end users. Enter, assign, and escalate Help Desk tickets on a daily basis. Respond to customers within two hours of Help Desk ticket assignment. Update and close service requests promptly. Follow up with customers to ensure needs are met. Treat customers in a respectful manner.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of desktop support experience
- Education: AA/AS degree (or equivalent)
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.
- Must agree to all client facility access policies, including NOAA’s COVID vaccination and/or testing policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience administering, developing, delivering, and supporting information technology systems and services. Must have experience carrying out projects independently or as a full Information Technology team member and must show experience working under general guidance and direction on project objectives, limits, work plans, and conclusions.
- Experience in Desktop Encryption Technology (eg. McAfee Drive Encryption, Microsoft Bit locker, etc.) a plus.
- Direct experience in set-up and migration of Windows OS (Windows 10 and newer), Apple MacOS, software installation, and updates.
- IT support performing help desk functions, server management, asset management, system security, data security, and recovery.
- Experience with enterprise configuration features of Microsoft Office Suite Products (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Direct experience in set-up and migration of user data using Apple iOS mobile devices.
- Proficiency with Google suite of products (e.g. Calendar, Meetings, Docs, Sheets, and Slides).
- Proficiency with installing, troubleshooting, and use of common COTS (commercial off the shelf) software including but not limited to Adobe Acrobat, Cisco Anyconnect, Bomgar, Axway Desktop Validator, Microsoft Visio, SAS, ArcGIS, and email client software (Thunderbird, Outlook, Apple Mail).
- Proficiency with troubleshooting and maintenance with Dell laptop and desktop hardware.
- Detailed oriented and organized.
- Possess excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
Other Details:
- Location: Hybrid (onsite 2-3 times a week depending on team schedule)
- Travel: The candidate may be required to travel locally or to other domestic destinations. The purpose of the travel may be for reporting task progress, providing desktop support services, or participating in workshops or meetings
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
