SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include actively working with TAM Investment Officers in monitoring and maintaining investment portfolios, to ensure accounts are invested according to the direction set forth by the portfolio management team. The incumbent must be knowledgeable about TAM’s investment process, investment objectives and portfolios, portfolio management and measurement software, trading and settlement.

Additional responsibilities include security specific research, trade resolution, performance measurement monitoring, composite monitoring, compliance technology and systems evaluation, implementation and training.

Responsible for executing security purchases and sales; developing and maintaining relationships with securities dealers; providing portfolio managers with current information about market sentiment, the trading environment, trading volume and price volatility. In addition, the incumbent will assist with the creation of new business proposals and presentations for client and prospect meetings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Investment Management

  • Learn to use the trading systems and actively participate as a securities trader with a focus on fixed income.
  • Develop and maintain broker relationships.
  • Participate in the quarterly rebalance of modeled portfolios.
  • Lead efforts to make trading more efficient including block trading and round lots.
  • Actively participate in the consolidation of fixed income securities.
  • Participate in monthly vendor calls.

Investment Research
  • Learn how to build, monitor and maintain the screening process for the Core Equity Portfolio.
  • Participate in the equity selection process for the Stock Research List
  • Have a working knowledge of the Stock Research List and the data used to build it
  • Be responsible for primary research coverage of a portion of the Stock Research List
  • Perform fundamental equity analysis on Core Equity Portfolio constituents and present reports to the Investment Team
  • Participate in creating the Core Equity Portfolio model.
  • Work toward becoming the analyst responsible for satellite products such as SRI, SDG or future new products.
  • As needed, perform ETF and mutual fund due diligence.
  • Attend industry conferences when appropriate.
  • Generate “research lists” and “approved lists” for stocks, ETFs and mutual funds
Compliance
  • Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines
  • Assist in FDIC audits
  • Complete necessary internal bank training sessions
  • Review buy/sell fail report
  • Manage corporate actions
  • Update Omnisweep money market monitor report
  • Assist preparing quarterly Trust Committee presentation package
  • Assist in annual broker review

Business Development

  • As part of the investment team, help write periodic investment letters intended for internal and external publication

Administrative

  • Responsible for building the TIC presentation materials
  • Responsible for generating the monthly performance for all composites
  • Responsible for generating monthly attribution for core equity and core fixed income composites
  • Responsible for updating economic slide database
  • Generating Investment Reports for client meetings
  • Creating and uploading client report to ClientPoint

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance or engineering. Advanced degree a plus
  • Progress toward or desire to obtain CFA designation
  • Prior trading experience is preferable
  • Strong systems, software and technology understanding required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting and financial principles, associated investment strategies and instruments, and characteristics of various marketplaces, usually acquired through formal education and work experience, are required to manage portfolios.
  • The position requires personal work habits and attitudes that enhance the overall professional dimension of our organization and contribute directly to successful job performance.
  • Knowledge of investment related software applications is preferable. These applications may include, Morningstar, Zacks, FacSet, Bloomberg, InvestEdge, FIS systems.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, or similar.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to work on and prioritize multiple tasks and projects at one time and work independently with superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must have cyber security awareness to protect the digital environment, the Bank, and customers.
