The Design Associate role is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. This position will be responsible for assisting the Interior Design department and the Interior Designer on design projects. This role will help in designing, sourcing, and planning with the lead of the Interior Designer. The Design Associate will be responsible for maintaining and organizing all documentation and details that are related to the projects.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Curating concept and design for projects
- Assisting in sourcing furnishings and decor
- Assist in coordinating with vendors and contractors for projects
- Responsible for their own billable hours ensuring that they are submitted in a timely manner
- Assist in gathering information for the Interior Designer
- Managing organization of project details and documentation
- Managing organization of client and vendor correspondence
- Tracking project budgets
- Vendor research
- Vendor bidding
- Correspondence with vendor on behalf of designer
- Assistance with drafting and detail verification (field measurements etc)
- Organization and tracking of samples
- Organization and keeping of project binders and documentation
- Onsite styling and installation
- Assisting Interior Designer with special projects and research
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of interior design experience
- Design eye
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- CAD experience is not required but preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform and prioritize tasks
- Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player
- A proactive approach to problem solving
