INTAKE CLINICIAN - Full-time - 40 hours per week - 4 X 10-hour shifts/week, 1:00pm - 11:00pm, every other weekend

Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. It is the ultimate goal of our dedicated staff to build strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient, in hopes that they may continue learning and understanding their needs and practicing self-care for the rest of their lives.

Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Intake Clinician to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Intake Clinician obtains initial clinical phone information which is communicated to the physician on call to make a final decision regarding admission. The Clinician may also schedule a clinical evaluation if appropriate for the client and contacts the physician who will make decision for the appropriate level of care: inpatient, day treatment or outpatient care. The Clinician will facilitate this process by assisting the client, family and referral sources. They also provide information to clients, families and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance and admission procedures as well as providing referral assistance for patients assessed as inappropriate for admission. Will also provide consultation to nurses regarding intake information and screenings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of associates in nursing, bachelor of nursing, preferred, or masters of social work degrees.
  • At least one (1) to three (3) years of experience providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital.
  • Current License in the State of Michigan as a Fully Licensed Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • Employee must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, performance evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfer.
