A company that we are working with in Ulster County is looking for an experience Purchasing Agent for their industrial manufacturing facility.

In this position, you would be representing the organization in coordinating, monitoring, and facilitating a variety of activities involved with the procurement of goods and services to support material planning and manufacturing operations. The right candidate will be developing and executing commodity strategies, source selection, cost reduction initiatives, quality improvement and inventory management program goals.

Specifically, your duties and responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

· Communicates with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule

· Manages supplier relationships and maintains alternative sourcing available to provide optimal benefits to the organization. Initiates strategic cost saving purchasing initiatives.

· Works with engineering on new product introductions, including early supplier involvement and to provide material pricing.

· Manages and continuously reviews the Purchase Order System (MRP), to ensure it is accurate, up to date and consistently meets the requirements of the organization to ensure appropriate delivery dates.

· Facilitates achievement of +99% On-Time Delivery, with no part shortages that result in line stoppages while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Acts as the liaison between Sales, Production, Shipping/Receiving, Quality Control, Finance and Engineering on all matters involving materials purchases that involve production and achievement of the shipping plan.

· Maintains current knowledge for this position and within the work area through continuing education, subscriptions, certifications, and memberships. Specific areas of expertise include American Purchasing Society and APICS

With this position, you must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle. Possess educational and experience of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college in business or supply chain or 5 years of purchasing experience. 1 – 3 years related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Also, this position will require you have the capability to travel between locations domestically.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $41,600.00 - $62,400.00 per year
