POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting for a Human Resources Technician (VERY URGENT). The Human Resources Technician is responsible for performing a variety of HR services in the Talent Management unit within the Division of Human Resources and related duties as assigned. This full-time position pays $32.14 per hour and is located in Providence, RI 02908. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is REQUIRED.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Timely and accurate payroll processing for assigned state department(s) with complex work schedules and payroll rules.
· The individual in this position will audit and process timesheets in accordance with time and attendance rules, to include complex scheduling, overtime and a variety of other compensation and incentive payments.
· Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· The position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll function.
· Individual must be detail orientated and demonstrate a high level of accuracy, possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to adapt to change and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Previous experience utilizing a Mainframe system is a plus.
· Must also possess knowledge of Federal and State of Rhode Island payroll and wage and hour laws
· Business and fiscal management acumen
· Proven HR skills and competencies and the ability to interpret collective bargaining requirements as they relate to the payroll function.
· Ability to work collaboratively.
· Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.
· Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritize tasks.
· Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
· This position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll function.
· Associates Degree Required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Must be able to lift and move up to 25 – 50 pounds at times.
· MAXIMUM 35 Per Week.
· Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, however evening and weekend hours may be required.
· Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
