Human Resources Coordinator Job at Shawcor Composite Systems
THE ROLE
We are recruiting for the role of Human Resources Coordinator for Shawcor Composite Systems based in Hagerstown, MD. Reporting to the HR Manager, the role will support a wide range of HR functions and services. The job holder will assist the HR team along with assigned business areas (one or two production locations: Tipton, IA, and Seguin, TX.) to fulfill a range of HR tasks and responsibilities. This position may be required to travel up to 10-20% of the time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with the day-to-day HR operations and provides administrative support.
- Prepares employment change letters and facilitates processes around employee data change (hires/ terms/ promotions)
- Support the hiring process of potential employees by scheduling interviews, and training and assist with the pre-employment testing/screening process.
- Coordinate new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to the appropriate person.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting Human Resources metrics. Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports.
- Implementation and administration of employee programs to ensure program effectiveness and overall accountability from all stakeholders (e.g., onboarding, talent development)
- Providing assistance in the planning and implementation of business unit/client area change.
- Organize, maintain, and update employee records information
- Assist with payroll support as needed
- Leading and/or assisting with special projects and initiatives as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in a Human Resources role
- Working knowledge of employment-related legislation would be an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills including familiarity with Human Resources Management System (preferably ADP and SuccessFactors) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel up to 10-20% as per job requirements.
- The following are considered an asset for this position: Experience working in a large multi-site location (manufacturing environment) and previous experience or exposure working in a union environment
