Human Resource Generalist Job at General Plastics

Duties and Tasks:

This list of duties and responsibilities are not all – inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Recruiting & Hiring:
  • Sourcing candidates, both active and passive
  • Writing and posting job advertisements
  • Screening candidates and conducting phone interviews
  • Assisting in the development of interview guides for supervisors
  • Create offer letters and extend offers to candidates
  • Schedule post-offer drug testing, physicals and other needed testing
  • Assist with implementation and training on Applicant Tracking System

Employee Onboarding & Retention:
  • Conduct New Employee Onboarding and assist in expansion of the program
  • Identify and implement programs to improve employee engagement and retention
  • Assist in aligning employee behaviors with company culture & values
  • Research policies and benefits offered by other local employers

Performance management:
  • Conduct and analyze new employee, stay and exit interviews.
  • Maintain, analyze and improve HR metrics
  • Assist with administration and improvement of current processes and programs
Assure compliance with a variety of HR programs:

Education / Experience:
  • Education or equivalent experience in Human Resources
  • 3-6 years of progressive experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting in a manufacturing setting
  • Safety experience a plus
  • Team player with the desire to own projects and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented with good time management skills
  • Self-learner who keeps up to date on industry best practices and technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
