TITLE: HR Generalist

Hours: Mon – Fri (WFH 2x/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY

The ideal candidate has the interest to work in all pillars of HR with a current solid foundation of HR principles and systems. This candidate does not need to have mastery in each pillar, but some general knowledge in each area with a deep desire to learn more. This role will work alongside HR team to support all facets of the Human Resources department including but not limited to onboarding, recruiting, payroll, benefits, staffing, training, safety, labor relations and maintaining employee records. Supports all HR goals, objectives and systems. Represents Food for Thought’s Culture and Vision through best practices and embracing the company’s core values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Assists in implementing/modifying recruiting and interviewing programs

· Supports the new hire onboarding process by conducting orientation, ensuring new hire paperwork is complete and entered into the HRIS system and accurately completing I9’s in a timely manner

· Maintains department filing systems

· Responds to employee and applicant inquiries in a timely manner

· Assist in the management of employee benefit programs including, but not limited to: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401k, STD/LTD, etc. as well as managing all 401k loans between employees and TPA.

· Processes all Worker’s Compensation and Unemployment claims through appropriate vendors

· May provide overall project management for a given HR initiative

· Utilizes current payroll system to create, update and manage employee records and reports

· Manages HR Inbox and responds to inquiries in a timely manner

· Supports the Training and People Development Initiatives of Food for Thought as requested

· In conjunction with HR team, help complete annual compliance reporting, including ACA reporting, Form 5500 filings, EEO-1 reporting, minimum wage updates, as well as other required reporting.

· Other duties as assigned

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Knowledge or some experience in Hiring, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Communication Processes, Compensation and Wage Structure, Employment Law

· Proficient with HRIS systems (ADP preferred), MS Office

· Excellent organization, planning, and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal

· Superior problem-solving abilities, solid judgment, and the ability to self-lead

· Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to shift workload and priorities

· Ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment

· Team player, ready and willing to assist in departmental projects and emergencies

· Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data

· Fluency in Spanish is a plus!

· 2 years of prior human resources experience required

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
