POSITION SUMMARY
Performs effective cleaning and sanitizing using proper chemicals and techniques provided throughout the facility to ensure a clean and infection-free environment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting area, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
Uses the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure, and accordingly to manufacturers recommendations.
Uses and maintains equipment properly.
Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
Transports trash and infectious waste to appropriate disposal area.
Follows all infection control practices including handwashing techniques, standard precautions, and isolation pre-cautions.
Works day, evening, or night shift as assigned.
Always observes safety precautions and uses proper safety signage.
Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
