Starting Annual Pay Range: $97,864.00 - $104.395.00
The Health Services Director is responsible for the overall success of the medical and dental programs at NATIVE HEALTH and for meeting objectives, goals, productivity benchmarks, and clinical outcomes. The Health Services Director is in charge of the administrative management of the day-to-day operations and policies and procedures for the medical and dental clinics. The Health Services Director ensures services delivered are patient and family-centered and integrated with other operational areas within the organization. The Health Services Director works closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Dental Director, and Practice Managers to ensure clinical services are aligned with NATIVE HEALTH’s mission and strategic plan.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provides direction to the planning, development, and operation of NATIVE HEALTH’s medical and dental services and strategies.
- Regularly monitors, analyzes and reports the status of NATIVE HEALTH’s Medical and Dental clinics and programs.
- Reviews and evaluates programs and services, to assure quality and compliance with NATIVE HEALTH policies and procedures and with regulatory agencies.
- Leads and manages staff through mentoring, coaching, and supervision ensuring staff engagement to meet organizational and department goals and objectives.
- Provides fiscal oversight for the Medical and Dental Division.
- Provides education, analysis, and administrative information in assisting NATIVE HEALTH in policy development, decision making, and priority setting.
- Supports the organization as needed.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor degree in healthcare administering or a related field is required.
- MPH or related Master’s Degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in the field of public health or healthcare administration required, preferably in primary care (family medicine practice).
- Five years of supervisory experience required.
- Three years of experience in managing government contracts and grants is preferred.
- Possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid AZ driver license during employment. Must be insurable by NATIVE HEALTH’s liability auto policy.
- Must pass a criminal background check with a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment.
- Must submit to random testing during the course of employment.
- Must have an updated Immunization (IZ) Record, including COVID vaccination record.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Considerable knowledge of public/ healthcare administration, including finance; budget and grant management, personnel; contracts; local, state and federal rules, requirements and best practices.
- Considerable knowledge of the organization and current trends for Medical and Dental practice and operations.
- Ability to establish program goals and objectives and to assess progress toward their achievement.
- Assures adherence to patient bill of rights, data privacy, record protection, HIPAA regulations and record retention policies.
- Utilizes and supports the team concept in program design and development.
- Ability to handle administration of multiple program sites and establish and maintain cooperative relationships with agency staff, other agencies, patients, clients, and the public.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Culturally competent; able to work with a diverse workforce and patient population.
- Open to change and willing to lead change within the organization.
- Professional integrity; excellent work ethic.
- Able to manage competing priorities; excellent organizational skills and good time management.
- Proficient with computer based applications such as MS Office, Adobe, and electronic health record.
- Must be able to work with confidential material without betraying trust of client, family, and the agency.
