Position Summary:
The High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP), located in Gakona AK, is currently looking to fill three temporary Maintenance Service Worker IV positions. Duties will include basic maintenance, including road maintenance, brushwork, dirt, and shovel work. These positions will be through the summer and potentially into early fall. Applicants must be legally eligible for unrestricted employment to work in the U.S. No work visas will be sponsored for this position.Duties:
The High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) is part of the Geophysical Institute at UAF. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and technical procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management.
Ability to work independently and in a group setting including following and communicating instructions given by management; relating in a positive manner to management and other employees; making efforts to solve crew conflicts; and assisting in providing a productive and safe work environment.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs
Required Education and Experience:
Apprentice level or equivalent certification; or a minimum of six years multi-trade experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Information:
This position is fulltime, MSW IV, temporary, non-exempt ($22.70/hour)
