Grower Relations Manager Job at Chelan Fruit/Manson Growers
Role Summary: The Grower Relations Manager works in collaboration with outside growers along with Company Orchard Managers and Ranch Managers to ensure accurate fruit production estimates, harvest timing, fruit condition, and storability to maximize grower returns along with efficient warehouse operations.

Leadership Responsibilities:
· Ensures excellent customer service is provided to existing and prospective growers, employees, managers, and other community members.
· Works with management to understand current and future needs and develops process improvement plans.
· Participates in intra-departmental and inter-departmental efforts for continuous safety, quality, and productivity improvement.
· Designs methods for continuous improvement in the delivery of services by soliciting internal and external feedback, using best practice models and organizational goals.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
· Meet with growers and establish relationships to understand their business and needs
· Assure that the Company's growers receive effective, accurate and timely advice promoting optimum produce quality, harvest strategies, and market conditions
· Provide for favorable grower attitudes toward the Company by directing and performing continuing supportive and courteous contact with growers and prospects
· Work with grower, facility manager and production manager to ensure fruit is harvested at optimum maturity for intended storage pool(s) based upon fruit pressure, brix, starch levels, and other quality standards
· Play a key role in bridging the gap between the grower and the warehouse - ensure effective communication between grower and warehouse
· Communicate with grower when their fruit is being run on production line, encourage and facilitate grower participation, and communicate variations in packout and quality
· Coordinates with the sales and marketing team to help ensure that grower fruit moves through the system in a timely manner based upon preset strategies, goals, and objectives
· Attend all field meetings and nurture a strong working relationship with field staff from partner warehouses
· Work in a coordinated effort with field staff from partner warehouses with shared growers and ensure we are not taking fruit from our partner warehouses
· Investigate and analyze orchard procurement opportunities and present this information to management
· Responsible for signing up growers with Manco if appropriate for grower.
· Must recruit new growers to sign up with us.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· 5-10 years’ experience in hands-on horticulture experience
· Working knowledge of chemicals, training systems, pruning techniques, state and federal fruit grading standards, food safety, and all other aspects of tree fruit production
Certificates & Licenses:
· Driver’s license required
· Pest Control Advisor (PCA) License preferred
Physical Requirements/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
· Ability to write, communicate, understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information in English.
· Ability to plan, organize, and carry out assignments from management staff with minimal direction.
· Ability to analyze situations, interpret data, and make decisions that have moderate impact on immediate work unit.
· Ability to organize and prioritize job duties in an effective and timely manner, set priorities and meet critical deadlines.
· Ability to maintain accurate files and records.
· Physical requirements for this position include hearing, seeing, speaking, feeling, reaching, pinching, and repetitive motions.
· This position requires standing and walking for long periods of time.
· This position requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force in order to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.
