In the role as Global Director R&D you will report to the Vice President Research and Development and Technology Performance Formulations but also work in close collaboration with the Business for Segment Home & Personal Care and our customers. You will be part of the Business Leadership Team for Home & Personal Care as well as the R&D functional leadership team, driving engagement and a high performance innovation culture at Nouryon.

In your future role as Global R&D Director Home & Personal Care you will..

• 
  Develop the strategy to drive growth in line with the strategy of the business and translate the strategy to tactical and operational objectives and plans for your own organization-
• Organize and manage the R&D portfolio and project governance in the Home & Personal Care business based on Nouryon’s framework.
• Support marketing and sales in building technical relations with (key) customers and identify opportunities for innovation and/or collaborations
• Be responsible for the R&D budget and plans. Includes managing own organization as well as the support from other internal and external R&D providers
• Build internal and external networks with other relevant stakeholders, potential technology providers or collaboration partners
• Develop the technical expertise and lab capability needed to support the business strategy with product and application development as well as Technical service
• Actively scout and identify internal and external partners able to complement our in-house capabilities and product technologies
• Play a pivotal role in the future success of Nouryon by creating an environment where R&D and Tech Service people can share ideas, best practices and leverage company capabilities to best support our customers

We believe you bring..

• 
  Relevant degree (Master or PhD) in Chemical Technology or Chemistry preferably in formulation science, surface & colloid science, or the like.
• Extensive experience in relevant Innovation related roles related to development activities within the Home and Personal Care value chain in roles such as R&D manager / Product Development Manager
• Good experience from working in the Cleaning Goods and/or Personal Care industry sector
• Genuine interest and aptitude to work with technically demanding products and solutions
• Excellent English language skills, oral and in writing
• Ability and willingness to use IT tools on daily basis (SAP/BW, CRM, Arkieva, Excel and market research databases)

Great if you have experience and a proven track record in leading highly technical and global teams.
