The AES Clean Energy (AES CE) Wind Development Team is seeking a GIS Analyst. The position will support GIS needs across the Wind Development Team, including development, real estate, land acquisition, engineering, construction, and permitting. The successful candidate will have experience with data analysis using GIS, determining site suitability, and understanding utility scale wind energy development.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Creates and maintains accurate maps and exhibits with high visual impact on an as-needed basis.
  • Produces spatial analyses to support a variety of different projects.
  • Builds upon and maintains existing GIS library, with outreach to company departments, external organizations, and jurisdictions to fill data gaps.
  • Maintains and updates AES CE property holdings pipeline.
  • Participates in GIS-driven site selection process.
  • Works with different teams where specific GIS related skills are needed.
  • Helps to streamline process and standards for data requests and deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Earth Science, or related field.
  • 1-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent in educa
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, Google Earth, MS Office is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, QGIS, AGOL, MS SQL Server, Python is a plus.
  • Professional or internship experience in GIS, energy, land, or planning is a plus.
  • Experience with CAD to GIS data conversion preferred.
  • Diligent, detailed oriented, and dynamic. Able to self-organize priorities.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $60,000 and $76,500/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
