A Job With Purpose -

Looking for a hardworking individual for our F/T Dock/Donation Lead position. Starting pay, $17 per hour, pay increase to $17.75 at six months.

We are looking to fill two full-time positions at our Odana Thrift Store, located at 6301 Odana Rd, Madison.

Must be available to work between the hours of: Monday-Saturday 9am - 7:30 pm and Sunday 9am-5:30 pm. Weekends are a must! Please apply by 1/12/2023 and include your daily availability

The Furniture/Dock Lead is responsible to the Store Manager and Assistant Managers for these, and any other duties as assigned:

  • Maintaining a stocked and organized furniture & large miscellaneous department.
  • Accurately price furniture, filling and organizing sales floor as needed. Marks down and pull furniture & large miscellaneous items from the sales floor for shipment to another location.
  • Communicates the needs of the donation area and furniture department to store management including donor/customer issues, supplies needed and other departmental needs.
  • Provide customer service throughout the store: answering questions, anticipating customer needs, offering help and encouraging sales.
  • Able to price Small Appliances, pictures as well as Lg. and Sm. Misc. accurately.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading trailers safely and efficiently, repacking donations when necessary.
  • Keeping accurate counts of incoming product and maintaining a clean and organized donation area and stock room.
  • Hazmat – appropriately sorting, pricing, and disposing of Hazmat items including batteries, lightbulbs, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.
  • Responsible assisting donors with donated goods, following acceptance guidelines and informing donors of items we can’t accept due to condition or legality.
  • Assists managers in ensuring that safety guidelines are being adhered to and notifying management of potential issues and unsafe practices.
  • Able to work 40 hr./wk. with flexibility depending on store needs.

Qualifications:

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must work cooperatively and courteously with all SVdP staff members, clients, customers and donors.
  • Ready to handle multiple job functions with good organizational skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with both management and co-workers achieve the teamwork required in the above tasks.
  • Able to prioritize and execute responsibilities and to possess good decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining adequate customer service and cleanliness.
  • Flexible with job changes, willing and able to perform other tasks when needed.
  • Able to assist with all other store positions and departments.
