Job Title: Facility & Grounds Technician

Reports to: Operations Director
Location: Las Cruces, NM

Terms: 40 hours/week; overtime may be available (through Manpower NM)

Rate: $15/hour

Schedule: Mostly Monday – Friday; Weekends, if needed

About the Role: The Hospitality Center Facility & Grounds Technician is responsible for on-site electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs, as well as ensuring the grounds are maintained at the Hospitality Center (temporary shelter). The technician will work in conjunction with other site coordinators and shift supervisors to facilitate the smooth operation of the shelter and report to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities: Operations: Address and care for facility and grounds of Hospitality Center. Relevant tasks may include, but may not be limited to:

Facility Maintenance

• Maintain and repair heating and cooling systems, as needed
• Maintain and repair plumbing
• Perform minor electrical repairs

Grounds Upkeep
● Maintain grounds

Working Conditions: The Hospitality Center site is old and will likely require very frequent maintenance and repair.

Candidate Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum three (3) year of full- time work experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Experience with plumbing, electrical, and heating and cooling repair
• Conversationally fluent in Spanish and English, preferred
• Experience maintaining a variety of professional relationships
• Demonstrated skill at prompt and professional verbal and written communication
• Strong initiative
• Ability to manage and balance priorities
• Flexible; ability to adjust to changing circumstances

Additional * Ability to pass a comprehensive background check

• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Completed COVID-19 vaccination and booster

Experience:

• Landscape maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
