The Executive Director is responsible for the supervision and management of the treatment program, facility, staff and clients.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and ensures quality of all aspects of the one or more programs and takes initiative to make improvements.
- Conducts weekly treatment team meetings to ensure consistent and effective communication, including proper oversight of client progress and to ensures a team approach is being utilized.
- Monitor and assess staff morale and build team spirit and community.
- Posts, interviews and hires for all staff and completes on board paperwork.
- Trains all new employees within their scope and coordinates training with other team members.
- Conducts all 90 day, annual performance reviews, and growth plans for employees in collaboration with the appropriate discipline.
- To provide adequate and ongoing training of facility employees, and sufficient oversight/supervision to ensure that all services are in keeping with the Discovery Mission Statement.
- Facilitates monthly employee trainings ensuring that all mandated trainings are completed throughout the year.
- Oversees milieu employees’ schedules to ensure that all shifts are covered and staff are not incurring overtime hours. Determines adjustments in staffing according to census.
- Communicates with referral sources and outpatient providers for continuity of care upon admission, midpoint, and discharge
- Facilitates client transfers to higher level of care, as needed.
- Participates in clinical outreach and facilitates program tours as needed.
- Consistently communicates with home office departments effectively and in a timely manner.
- Attends all designated meetings and conference calls or ensures facility presence at meetings. Ensures that all necessary information is disseminated to team members.
- Possesses a complete and working knowledge of all employee job descriptions to be able to support and supervise all employees.
- Responsible for timekeeping of clinical employees and oversees all employees’ timekeeping to ensure that all timecards are submitted to payroll in a timely manner and reports any error or corrections to payroll as soon as possible.
- Oversees the client intake and discharge process
- Participates in weekly treatment team meetings, keeping notes and creating the treatment team overview notes for the staff to review.
- Must be proficient in all Joint Commission and HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Responsible for facility budgets
- Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred
- Two years experience in management
- Two years mental health experience in residential or hospital setting preferred
- Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- Obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- Must possess a current Driver’s License in good standing
