Palmer Coking Coal Co, LLP (PCC) is a well-established family-owned business located in the heart of Black Diamond, WA. Our core business is producing and selling sand, gravel, and landscaping materials. Our culture is one rooted in reliability, honesty and admiration for the value of a hard day’s work.
Our top mechanic is retiring after 25+ years and we are looking for the right person to join us. Our employees typically remain with Palmer for years, if not decades.
Job Description: Full-time position as in-house mechanic for a sand, gravel, and landscape materials company. This position includes both shop and field mechanic work.
- Full-time position;
- Monday – Friday; occasional Saturday hours;
- Potential overtime opportunity during the busy seasons (April-October);
- Duties include approx. 1 hour per day of fuel/lube responsibilities;
- Some small front-end loader operation in our company's retail landscape products yard;
- Regular maintenance of heavy equipment and heavy trucks (dumptrucks, front loaders, excavators, bulldozers, bobcats, and etc.).
Requirements:
- 3+ years mechanic experience on equipment;
- Prefer applicants to live close for occasional on-call duties;
- Experience with fuel/lube of heavy equipment;
- Experience operating a front-loader;
- Must be a multi-talented, jack-of-all-trades mechanic;
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
