THE ROLE:
We are currently seeking a Entry Level Tire Technician. This role is designed for those who love physical labor work and a path to multiple technician positions in the transportation maintenance industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to clearly read, write and speak English
- Ability to operate a computer-based maintenance tracking system and diagnostic system
- Basic math calculations
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be able to perform in a physically demanding environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform PM services on tires, including rotations, balancing and repairs
- Mount and dismount tires and wheels
- Retread tires as needed
- Inspect tire casings for defects, such as holes or tears, and patch or replace as needed
- Close out and complete repair orders
- Identify and properly tag all turned-in pieces of equipment
- Comply with all OSHA regulations and safety requirements
- Maintain an organized and neat shop/storage area
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Maneuvering around, in, on, and under trucks/tight spaces
- Standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body movements
- Using hands to handle, control or feel
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
