ENTRY LEVEL AIRPORT PLANNER Job at Perkins Engineering Consultants
RESPONSIBILITIES
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for an entry-level planner to work with our aviation department. Responsibilities include assisting with:
- preparing aviation planning documents (e.g., airport master plans, strategic plans, system plans, airport land use compatibility plans)
- providing national and state environmental documentation
- preparing presentations for stakeholder and public meetings/workshops
- conducting research and analyzing data
- compiling and evaluating airport, land use, and environmental data
- creating maps, figures, and graphics
- writing technical reports and public communications pieces
Some travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in transportation, urban, or environmental planning, airport/aviation management, civil engineering, geography/GIS, economics, or related field from an accredited 4-year college or university within 6 month of hire date.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- strong technical writing skills
- strong research skills related to aviation, planning, and environmental topics
- experience working in a team environment and independently
- experience with public presentations and speaking
- experience with GIS, AutoCAD, and/or graphic design software
- interest in aviation, and airport planning and development
