Summary

The Engineering Technician II will perform maintenance on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Performs technical diagnostics and repairs on various complex systems.
  • Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment.
  • Conducting a variety of tests using established methods, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Performs maintenance on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV)

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Manages multiple projects without having direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school; or
  • two years (60 credit hours) coursework from a four-year college or university;
  • or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years’ experience. Experience with USG Bradley Fighting Vehicle preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress.
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background investigation prior to hire.
  • Knowledge of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position requires frequent standing and walking. Work can be performed in a climate controlled environment or outside.
  • Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.
