A Mechanical Engineer on the Plant Technical Staff is responsible for solving unique challenges to improve reliability of compressor station assets by managing projects and providing technical guidance to field operations. What you will do:
  • Provide technical guidance to field personnel and Region as a member of the Central Region Technical Staff.
  • Perform engineering calculations and apply common engineering principles and theory to provide recommendations for construction, installation, replacement, repair, and purchase of equipment to support the operation of Company compressor stations.
  • Identify and evaluate operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigations to include timelines and cost. Communicate recommendations in written format to Technical Staff supervision.
  • Ensure assigned plant projects are designed and executed in accordance with all applicable regulations, industry codes and Company standards.
  • Support the development of scope, schedule, and budget for plant projects and perform project management tasks such as creating schedules, issuing purchase orders, forecasting budget for projects.
  • Formulate material and contractor bid specifications. Create service and purchase requisitions; evaluate bids and make material and contractor selections.
  • Support Asset Reliability and Facility Integrity programs through participation in project initiatives.
  • Conduct reviews and provide approval of engineering designs and changes as part of the Management of Change (MOC) Process.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews for Major Projects and ensure design meets Company standards for safety, reliability, operability, and maintainability.
  • Review and approve gas handling procedures for operational activities.
  • Participate in Incident Investigations to drive continuous improvements.
Who you are:
You have the following education and/or experience:
  • An Engineering degree
  • 2-4 years of previous related experience
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Must reside or willing to relocate within 30 miles of the Nashville office
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • EIT Certification is a plus
