We are growing and looking for an EHS Coordinator to join our New Hampshire team!

The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator works to create and enforce a culture of safety within the Prototek organization. They implement programs, policies and assessments to ensure the company is in compliance with all federal and internal health and safety rules.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect facility to identify health, safety and environmental risks
• Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings
• Investigate and conduct job risk analysis
• Prepare recommendations for training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety and other relevant topics
• Audit the material safety data sheets and ensure they are readily accessible when needed
• Stay up to date on all safety trends in the industry and consistently educate/re-educate as necessary
• Perform other related duties as assigned in a team environment

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Extensive knowledge of federal, state and local safety codes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding organizational and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail
• Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Graduate (GED) required.
• At least 2 years of college in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience in manufacturing
• Valid driver’s license is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• The ability to wear the proper PPE while out on the production floor and working with equipment
• Prolonged periods of walking/standing while performing investigations and working on the manufacturing floor
• Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Environment where the following exposures exist: loud noise, bloodborne and airborne pathogens, infectious materials, fumes, toxic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, non-weather wet and/or humid conditions, etc.
• Manufacturing environment which temperatures drastically change from season to season
• Exposure to different chemicals, including but not limited to lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints, etc.

TRAVEL:

• There may be possible travel to other Prototek locations for on-site visits on an as needed basis.
