The Dispatcher, Gas Service is responsible for processing of gas service orders for the company including emergency calls related to public safety. These include, but are not limited to gas emergencies, gas trouble calls, meter turn on requests, meter shut off requests, customer inquiries, meter investigations, and meter exchanges. The department maintains a 24/7 operation.
Shifts are required.
Essential Functions:
- Operates Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System to maximize efficiency of the field personnel and to comply with state regulations for gas leaks, regulated work requirements and customer appointment times.
- Operates and monitors multiple systems including, but not limited to a base radio, CAD, Customer information system, company paging system, on call database, and other applications.
- Provides emergency restoration assistance to Field Operations personnel, as necessary.
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of gas metering, regulation and associated equipment.
- Must have good typing skills.
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn CAD Systems, ARCOS, Microsoft Office, Customer systems and/or other systems or programs.
Education:
- High School Diploma, Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience
Licenses & Certification:
- This position will require the satisfactory completion of company training programs and oral and/ or written exams must be successfully passed.
Working Conditions:
- Availability to work 24/7 shift work. Shifts are required.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
