Overview:
Talento has partnered with a consumer goods company in LA County looking for a Director, Operations and Logistics to oversee the day-to-day activities of the company, ensuring that the operations of the organization are managed and performing efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the retail operations including planning and allocations, buying, construction and facilities, warehousing, and customer service.
- Expand the company brand into untapped markets through relationship building, sales tactics and creating brand representation in conjunction with the Executive Director of Retail.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to optimize our efforts across the retail division including the Accounting and Human Resources teams.
- Oversee inventory, expense tracking, and forecasting.
- Oversee merchandising operations in partnership with the Buying team, developing and executing merchandising plans that will deliver volume and profit goals.
- Oversee stock levels in partnership with the Senior Director of Planning and Allocations, managing changes in demand to ensure that all stores have the correct inventory levels to maximize sales.
- Partner with Senior Director of Maintenance on all phases of a retail store construction project and Facilities Manager to coordinate maintenance and repair of all retail stores.
- Improve systems and processes that enable the corporate and store teams to efficiently manage and monitor the operational and financial performance of the stores.
- Ensures warehouse operations are running at peak performance.
- Identify issues, solve problems, and make necessary improvements to operations and staff on an ongoing basis.
- Takes corrective action in a constructive manner with employees who cause issues in the workplace.
- Partners with HR to improve talent management, retention and recruiting practices.
- Oversees safety training and execution.
- Develops, improves, and implements marketing initiatives that support the business plan.
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director of Retail.
Qualifications:
- Need to have expertise in managing warehouse operations and fulfillment.
- BS/BA required; MBA preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in operations/sales within retail, health and wellness or other relevant industries.
- Experience in scaling operations.
- Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment, ability to analyze and leverage data to make informed recommendations.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Outstanding communication and people skills.
- In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (i.e., production, compliance, supply chain, warehouse management…etc.)
- Familiarity with MS Office and various business software.
- Proven expertise in building customer-based operations standards and leveraging technology to scale and meet those needs.
- Job requires travel up to 50%
