World Insurance is one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage firms in the United States. Within our Employee Benefits Practice, we are creating a HR Advisory team to provide guidance around HR trends and the best practices, with a strong focus in HR Compliance/ Regulations, paid and unpaid leave and leave laws, ADA, DE&I, and total rewards strategies.

As the Director of HR Advisory, this position is responsible leading strategy, value proposition design and building out our tools, resources. and services that will be targeted for middle market companies throughout the United States. This role is both strategic in nature and hands on the development and building of HR Employer Guides, Presentations and Gap Assessments

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and keeps current HR Employer Guides and tools on subjects including but not limited to FMLA, Paid Time Off, Paternal leaves, Onboarding, Total Rewards, DE&I, and Workplace Flexibility.
  • Frequently develops content and presents at World sponsored seminars, workshops, and educational webcasts, as well as Risk Management and HR industry events as an engaging and credible subject matter expert.
  • Leverages expertise to provide consultative calls with clients on federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, State leaves, ADA, FLSA, EEO, et al) and appropriate application to employee relations matters and employee handbooks.
  • Responds to complex client questions on HR related topics including employment legislation, with the ability to explain nuances of the law and policy design, reviewing key decisions companies should consider and the impact on the organization, and its employees.
  • Leveraging knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and compliance requirements, maintains HR Gap Assessment tools and deliverables (scoring, reports, and action plans).
  • Presents to client’s key findings and recommended actions based on HR Gap Assessment.
  • Builds strong internal and external relationships and promotes HR Advisory services, and the Employee Benefits Practice to maximize ways to help our existing clients and bring new clients to World Insurance.
  • Provide high-level consultation, resources, tools and solutions to mid-market and large market Employee Benefit clients.
  • Responds to client inquires related to HR issues and matters as well as advises them of services and solutions available to support their HR needs and challenges.
  • Present HR advisory capabilities and associated technology to clients, prospects, and client service teams.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, HR, or Finance with 8 – 10 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, and at least 2 years in HR Consulting, particularly with middle-market clients. PHR/SPHR or other HR certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical and project management skills.
  • Senior level HR expertise demonstrated through the deliverance of high-quality and thoughtful HR solutions aligned with organizational objectives, evaluation of potential issues and provision of appropriate HR recommendations to address such issues.
  • Expertise in HR disciplines including talent acquisition and management, employee retention and engagement, performance management, training, and development, federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, et al) and appropriate application to employee relations matters.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to consult clients on state specific laws including but not limited to those related to harassment, paid leave, salary inquires, etc. Specific working knowledge on Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts specific employment laws (such as paid family and earned sick leave) required.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to give effective and engaging presentations to small and large client/prospect audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills (both qualitive and quantitative). Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and web-based technology solutions. Ability to develop new tools an templates that can be leveraged using Excel and other software.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel between 30% to 35%
