The Accounting Director is fully responsible for directing and managing the club’s financial operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred or a minimum of 5 years of directly related accounting experience in progressively responsible positions

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
    • Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, notes receivable, inventories, and assist HQ in financial reporting.
    • Produce financial statements, and Developer statements for use at the club and Headquarters
    • Have a thorough understanding of financial information and be able to logically present financial data (using generally accepted accounting practices and principles) in a timely and accurate manner to Headquarters, the General Manager and other club Department Heads
    • Assist the General Manager and other Department Heads with the analysis of the financial information to operate the club, and to plan for future growth and development
    • Reconcile information from various point of sale locations for revenues, tax liabilities, cost of goods sold, cash, charge and member receipts
    • Process miscellaneous cash receipts and make bank deposits
    • Record journal entries, daily reports, and inventory changes into the general ledger and subsidiary ledger systems
    • Maintain the member accounts receivable system, and communication with members
    • Manage and supervise Accounting Assistant and their respective duties
    • Verify gratuities distributions for payroll
    • Audit and verify Payroll Earnings and Deductions Calculation Report prior to payroll checks being printed
    • Prepare forecast for club’s NOI
    • Prepare balance sheet and sub ledger reconciliations
    • Record inter-company charges and verify balances in inter-company accounts with the appropriate affiliated companies
    • Inventory Management
    • Prepare local tax filings including sales tax, use tax, amusement tax, alcohol surtax
    • Calculate and make tax payments
    • Print and mail member statements
    • Process past due and bad debt collection letters
    • Maintain membership notes receivable
    • Review, identify and analyze any unusual fluctuations of financial information, research and explain significant changes of actual information versus budget to General Manager
    • Supply new member data to headquarters as required for asset management amortization
    • Consult with Department Heads and assist them with the preparation of their annual budgets
    • Analyze and review data for accuracy and reasonableness
    • Prepare 1099 information for filing
    • Prepare personal property tax returns where applicable
    • Maintain the retention of records including on-site and offsite storage of backup files
    • Develop and maintain a document retrieval plan for equipment and data in case of a natural disaster
    • Developer Clubs - Establish and maintain a professional business rapport with developer
    • Special projects or other duties as assigned
