Dietary Supervisor Job at The Pride Group
Under the general direction of the Administrator, the Dietary Supervisor directs and coordinates the dietary department and the nutritional well being for all residents at The Pride Group- RCF facility. The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of nutritional needs, evaluation and improvement of dietary program services; management of staff; and the delivery of high quality services as determined by the residents and under the direction of the Dietician hired by The Pride Group. The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality services in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of The Pride Group and complies with applicable state laws and regulations. The Dietary Supervisor conducts all responsibilities within the Scope of Practice dictated by the State of Iowa and oversees the dietary department and works closely with the facility administrator in managing these areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assure the provision of high quality dietary services for each resident.
2. Ensure ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, and federal regulatory and /or accrediting body standards.
3. Assume accountability for the development, organization, and implementation of approved policies and procedures.
4. Direct and supervise scheduling of employees within established guidelines.
5. Provide management and communicate with facility staff providing clear, concise information as well as specific requirements.
6. Utilize professional communication skills in dealing with staff, public, and residents.
7. Actively promote staff participation, teambuilding, and involvement in the day-to-day operations and decision making.
8. Ensure a safe and sanitary environment is provided for staff and residents; makes efforts to reduce safety hazards, accidents, and injuries.
9. Ensure that Staff Development education is provided according to regulation.
10. Recruit, hire, and train employees, conduct counseling interviews and initiate disciplinary action as necessary.
11. Prepare written employee performance evaluations and initiate recommendations for salary increases, promotions, and terminations.
12. Ensure all employee orientation paperwork specifically relating to Dietary area is complete.
13. Implement and direct the policies and procedures of the facility and communicate the program philosophy and goals.
14. Direct and follow up with appropriate staff, residents, or other individuals regarding resident complaints and grievances.
15. Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality regarding residents, staff and employer facility operations and ensure that resident’s rights are maintained.
16. Ensure that the OAP plans and changes are documented and implemented according to policies and procedures.
17. Inform the Administrator of any problems or circumstances, which may compromise the integrity of the facility.
18. Able to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily.
19. Attend monthly in-services, Department Head Meetings, and any other scheduled meetings as scheduled.
20. Knowledgeable on all pride group policy and procedure, state and federal law as it relates to company compliance program and will hold team members accountable to the compliance program.
21. The Dietician will make the menus and the Dietary Supervisor will ensure staff is following the direct instruction of the Dietician.
22. Schedule the ordering and delivery of product and see that there is staff to help with the delivery.
- ServSafe Certificate or ability to obtain
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Previous management experience is preferred
Background Check and pre-employment physical and drug screen are required.
