Job Description:
Job Summary:
Under the leadership of the Director of Residential Services, the Regional Coordinator is responsible for both client-related services and the day-to-day operations of the caseload in the assigned region. Day-to-day functions of the Regional Coordinator include oversight of Site Managers and Direct Support Professionals and assuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care as related to person-served health and safety, fiscal and regulatory compliance, and client programming. Client-related duties include completing assessments, gathering baseline data, reviewing client responses to services, and assisting in changing services as necessary. The Regional Coordinator is responsible for training the team on the client’s Individual Service Plan (ISP) and providing leadership and support to regional staff around the proper implementation of the ISP
Supervision Exercised: (NOTE: 4 - 6 sites and 3-4 managers)
The Regional Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising assigned Site Managers in specific region. The Regional Coordinator also provides oversight, while not formal supervision, to DSP staff. The Regional Coordinator establishes a defined relationship with the nursing department (not formal supervision.)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for facilitating client team meetings with Support Administrator when applicable, and ensuring that client needs are accurately assessed and defined in the ISP. This includes individual client services, individual client budgets and necessary staffing patterns.
Conducts appropriate client assessments and provides ongoing monitoring of client response to services provided.
Prepares and reviews necessary documentation, including the writing of skill development documents, HPC’s, behavior support plans, client financial records and other documentation as applicable.
Reviews client billing documentation prior to submission, for accuracy and compliance with service hours allotted.
Identifies when there is a need for further assessment regarding the consumer’s ability to provide informed consent.
Assures that programming is delivered as planned and with a high level of quality.
Ensures completion of all UIRs and MUIs within appropriate timeframes.
Responsible for the overall training and development of assigned Site Managers and Direct Support Professionals. Training areas include: ISP and skill development delivery, fiscal management and reconciliation, and general policies and procedures.
Assures that crises and emergencies are communicated to appropriate parties and handled in an appropriate manner.
Oversees the daily operations of the staff, and implements the principals of effective performance management on an on-going basis.
Responsible for preparation and oversight of compliance and licensure reviews within assigned sites.
Demonstrates awareness of and adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
Drives his/her personal auto between assignments, and transport clients as required.
Able to work flexible schedule as needed including on-call, nights and weekends as necessary to meet program needs.
Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirements:
Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Services, Business Administration or a related field of study with relevant experience.
Will consider high school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in management in the field of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
Experience:
Prefer 3-5 years’ experience in Intellectual Disabilities or related social services field.
Licenses/Certifications:
Maintain both a valid Ohio Drivers License, and a driving record that meets state regulations and JFSA’s insurance company standards.
Must have a reliable personal automobile available on a daily basis
Maintain personal auto liability insurance at the level that the JFSA’s requires for the Direct Support Provider job.
Complies with all essential training requirements and Annual Training, (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Delegated Nursing, CPI).
Valid Ohio Counselor or Social Work License is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong working knowledge and understanding of Residential Services.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Proven leadership ability in a team environment.
Strong skills in teaching, developing, and training staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with department staff, clients and other JFSA personnel.
Strong conflict management and problem solving skills.
Excellent ability to relate to families of clients.
Computer skills, including ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite.
High level of motivation and ability to take initiative.
Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and manage significant travel
Must have stamina to work long hours
