Dentist Job at Summit Community Care Clinic, Inc.
Under the general supervision of the Dental Director, the Dentist is responsible for administering, maintaining, and expanding a program of primary (and in selected cases, secondary) care and preventive dental care in a community health center setting. The Dentist works in a close team with the Dental Coordinator to provide consistent supervisory guidance to dental staff, especially in clinical matters.
As a condition of employment, Summit Community Care Clinic requires COVID-19 vaccination of all clinical and non-clinical staff.
Essential Functions:
- Performs quality clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity.
- Promotes oral health by providing educational information on all phases of preventive and restorative dentistry and oral hygiene.
- Reviews and follows all dental clinic protocols, policies, and procedures
- Documents and follows treatment plans that include appropriate preventive and restorative therapy.
- Manage medical/dental history with a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's general health.
- Address all contra-indications pertaining to treatment and identify patient's chief complaint or reason for visit.
- Maintain the baseline radiographs and any other radiographs necessary to diagnose and outline a treatment plan.
- Maintain necessary credentialing, licensure, and continuing education requirements
Additional Requirements:
- Grants are a vital part of Care Clinic revenues and directly or indirectly support all positions. This role may have responsibilities that are closely associated with grant deliverables. Grants and grant responsibilities may change over time.
- Complete all required trainings as designated by HR and the position supervisor.
- Oversight of projects and tasks as assigned by the COO and CDO.
- Adhere to all policies within organization and those outlined within the SCCC Employee Handbook.
- Comply with all SCCC Vaccine Mandates.
- Willingness to travel and work at other SCCC locations as determined by the supervisor.
- Comply with all applicable Credentialing and Privileging requirements timely.
- Embrace the SCCC Mission and Vision and agree to work within the SCCC Guiding Principles and the principles set by the position supervisor.
- Must participate in quality assurance/ improvement activities when applicable.

Education/Experience:
Must Haves to be successful:
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited program
- Unrestricted DEA
- License in Colorado
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of Healthcare setting, preferably in a non-profit
- Ability to read, write and clearly speak English
- Solid competency of digital system (including Microsoft Office Suite)
- Critical level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
- Collaboration with core Business Partners and full staff levels, with ability to communicate effectively with our Patients
- Meeting facilitation and action oriented
- Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions (evidence-based decision-making skills)
Nice to Haves:
- Spanish speaking highly preferred
- 2-5 years of experience as a Dentist
Work Environment:
The work environment is in a healthcare setting and can be fast paced and involve working directly with patients and healthcare professionals. The environment is primarily a clinical setting, but the individual may also work in a clerical setting.
