JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a passionate Data & Evaluation Specialist to help craft our data impact story. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into an impactful story. Data & Evaluation Specialist responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include data collection, design, analysis, and visualization to present results. The Data & Evaluation Specialist will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. The Data & Evaluation Specialist supports the Data & Evaluation Department using metrics to demonstrate the impact occurring in programs and services throughout Think Together. To be successful in this role, they must be able to take complex data and transform it into relatable and easy to understand visuals/graphics/story for a non-technical audience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Analysis
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
Program Evaluation
  • Conduct evaluation studies of current programming and deliver impact results
  • Research the latest trends in expanded learning impact, specifically related to Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and college and career readiness
  • Prepare relevant reports and presentations of impact and findings

Operations

  • Foster knowledge and a culture of continuous learning through presentations and facilitation of data reflection sessions
  • Experience in coordinating monitoring and evaluation across departments and settings
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, data analysis, data management, and quality assurance
Skills
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or evaluation specialist
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, research design development, data mining and data analysis
  • Strong communication, research, and analytical skills
  • Strong facilitation skills, including design and management of effective training, workshops, and meetings with diverse participants
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as be an effective member of a team
  • BS in Social Sciences, Education, Evaluation, Statistics, or other relevant subject
