Job Description: Crushing Plant Loader Operator

Job Summary

Operates front end loader at the crushing plant for the production and stockpiling of various aggregates produced for road construction and maintenance.

Requirements

Generally good health. Must pass pre-employment drug test. Valid Oregon Driver’s License recommended.

Skills and Duties

• Operates heavy equipment stockpiling aggregates
• Operated loader for loading trucks
• Participates as a crewmember in daily production operations and assists in plant preventive maintenance as assigned
• Set up and tear down operations of portable crushing plant
• Reports to supervisor any mechanical failures or a function for which it is intended
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education/Experience

Previous work experience with rock crusher and front end loader operation is preferred. MSHA training is required.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hand and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear.

Employee is required to reach above shoulders, walk ramps, use stairs/steps/step-stools, and use ladder. It is required of the employee to walk on rough or uneven terrain. Must be able to climb in and out of equipment, ditches, and trenches.

This position requires heavy physical labor including lifting, pushing or pulling objects. Employee must frequently lift and/or move 10-25 pounds and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment

The employee is exposed to adverse weather including extreme temperatures, rain, snow, sleet, and hail. This employee is also exposed to dangerous or unpleasant conditions and substances including noise, dust, hot oil, asphalt, chemicals, paint, and traffic hazards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
