DESCRIPTION OF WORK :
General Statement of Duties:
The Coordinator manages all aspects of field placements for apprentice teachers and practicum students. Meets with all practicum candidates to review requirements. In collaboration with the Field Experience Director facilitates and coordinates multiple student and supervisor orientations each semester. Manages the onboarding and scheduling of technology platforms embedded in field experiences and initial certification coursework. Coordinates with the Field Experience Director and Assessment Office in collecting dispositional data for accreditation, state and federal reporting, university assessment, and program improvement analyzing teacher candidate performance. Facilitates payments for district cooperating teachers and mileage reimbursements for university supervisors. Reports to the Director of Field Experience and Chair of the Department of Teacher Education.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Placement Process:
Manages and monitors all aspects of placement for apprentice teachers and practicum students.
Meets with practicum candidates as needed to review requirements, assess dispositions, assure that they are meeting the diversity of placements requirement and match student's characteristics and preferences with appropriate cooperating teacher and university supervisor.
Collaborates with Field Experience Director to design and update electronic application platform for field experiences. Verifies and reviews all applications for current clearance documents and eligibility for field experience.
Collaborates with the Field Experience Director to set deadlines for applications and manages the application process. Communicates with students and advisors regarding deadlines and processes.
Ensures all documents necessary for requests, confirmation, assignments, and student evaluations are processed at appropriate times and maintained in student records.
Receives, reviews, and approves confirmation notifications.
Collaborates with the Field Experience Director to assign university supervisors from a pool of faculty approved supervisors.
Payments/Budget:
Manages renumeration of university supervisor mileage expenditures.
Manages renumeration of cooperating teachers, both cash payments, and university vouchers.
Manages budgetary expenditures for payment of cooperating teachers and makes recommendations for budget adjustments.
Curricular Support:
Supports Field Experience Director in revising/developing curricular materials connected to field experience including:
Field experience handbooks
Canvas shells
Orientation and training materials for teacher candidates, cooperating teachers, and university supervisors
Developing MOUs with placement districts
Manages technology scheduling and onboarding students into the platforms (VEO and Mursion) in both field experiences and accompanying coursework
Data Collection and Monitoring:
Coordinates with the Field Experience Director to design and manage data collection for field experiences including:
Summative MEES scores
Dispositions ratings
Evaluation of placement sites
Overall program evaluation
Provides the Assessment Office with field experience information for Title II report
Student monitoring and support:
Notifies Field Experience Director and Department Chair of potential problems.
Communicates with alumni regarding employment and stays in contact for potential field placements.
Coordinates with the Counseling department to facilitate placements as needed for the School Counseling program.
Other duties as assigned.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Supports the Field Experience Director in providing supporting materials for grant writing initiatives and conducting research on potential grant initiatives
Attends MACTE and other state-wide training events and disseminates relevant information to DTE faculty and staff.
Monitors the data for trends and supports to enhance success of teachers from underrepresented minority groups.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use technology and quickly learn technology systems for student management, assessment data analysis and operational procedures.
Minimum of 3 years experience managing administrative processes and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with background in K-12 schools, community engagement and relationship building will be highly considered
Experience in higher education setting.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including Teams and Sharepoint a plus.
