Starting Pay Rate

Contract Preschool Teacher/Instructor: $14-$17/hr. depending on experience

What you will do:

• Provides children with a safe, stimulating, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for their growth and school readiness.
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, implementation of lesson plans, the supervision and safety of participants, cash handling and daily reporting, inventory control, superior communication skills, child discipline, processing of registrations, computer skills, miscellaneous daily paper work required by (DCF) and general cleanup.
• Ability to plan and provide for the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of the children in a developmentally appropriate environment, using an approved curriculum.
• Ability to observe, record, and document children's progress.
• Ability to give and receive instructions and apply consistent courtesy and tact in public contact and/or conformational situations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

What you need:

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) or Equivalent required.
• Emergent Literacy for VPK instructor's course completed. Department of Children and Family Services (DCF) 40-hour training required.
• Two (2) years or more of successful experience in child-related field preferred.

What we do:

The Four Freedoms Park and Recreation Center are nestled on 3.2 acres overlooking Bimini Basin. The park is off Cape Coral Pkwy between Coronado Pkwy and Santa Barbara Blvd. The park’s large, shaded, fenced-in area provides playground equipment geared toward all ages, and there are several picnic areas on-site, as well as asunbathing-only beach with scenic views of Bimini Basin.
Four Freedoms Park also includes a 3,900 square foot multipurpose facility that offers recreational programs for all ages and a specially designed 2,000 square foot addition to accommodate preschool and VPK programs. Four Freedoms Park offers programs for children of all ages, from birth to 17 years, as well as adults throughout the year.
