Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position performs nursing duties and responsibilities supervising professional nurses, licensed practical nurses and support staff who provide clinic services to clients at FDOH-Hernando. This position works under the direction of the Senior Community Health Nursing Director. This position spends the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; having the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline subordinate employees or to effectively recommend such actions.
Responsible for planning and organizing the work of the clinic staff. Plans work assignments, deadlines, objectives and time utilization with staff. Assesses the clinic flow and recommends appropriate action for improvements. Coordinates public health nursing services with the Nursing Director and other service units according to agency policies and objectives.
This position is responsible for supervising nursing and laboratory staff and monitoring the completion and accuracy of assigned duties and responsibilities. Monitors performance of staff assigned to the clinics. Instructs nursing staff in skills and abilities to update their knowledge according to the policies and procedures of the unit. Monitors staff to ensure that programmatic reports, audits, and case management are completed in a timely fashion. Responsible for staff follow-up on case management and all referrals to community specialists.
Conducts one-on-one meetings with subordinates and holds staff meetings at least monthly, encouraging group participation. Exhibits problem solving techniques.
Responsible for staff development and training, ensures preceptorship in all clinical and programmatic responsibilities. Assists with the development and revision of nursing procedures and protocols.
Reviews and monitors clinic charts for proper documentation of services provided and accurate coding of services provided. Ensures all components of the clinic record, including history, intake process, and SOAP notes, problem lists, medication lists, and allergies, are accurate and compliant with established policies and procedures.
Responsible for providing clinic coverage for absent staff in order to prevent backlog of services to clients. Interviews clients for evaluation and assessment of patient’s condition, counseling and treating conditions covered under the registered nurse protocols. Responsible for gathering and reviewing data collected for medical records during client interview. Ensures documentation on the chart by the problem orientated S.O.A.P. (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) method. Performs all clinical procedures to include, but not limited to: Immunizations, STD’s (Sexually Transmitted Diseases), Pre and Post HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) Counseling, TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test, Emergency Contraception and dispensing oral contraceptive methods. Assists Medical Providers with medical procedures, as needed and/or requested. Advises results and counsels on preventive measures and laboratory results according to procedures or protocols of the unit. Provides referral information to clients and other providers to facilitate continuity of health care. Responsible for providing and ensuring case management nursing services to eligible clients. Teaches healthy life styles and risk reduction in the clinic setting.

Responsible as a “need-to-know” employee for security sets relating to active medical records as it relates to performance of assigned duties and responsibilities for security and confidentiality of same.
Responsible for securing the designated information set for the purpose of protecting confidentiality, data integrity, and appropriate access for all information, both confidential and public record, which is stored in hard copy of electronic format.

Qualifications:
Must hold a current, active Florida Registered Nursing license or a multistate license from another Compact State.
Must have at least one year of experience leading/managing/coordinating/directing a program, project, or group of people Experience using computers to document medical care.
