The Community Employment Specialist is responsible for upholding this idea, making sure that all services are rendered truthfully and in accordance with the rules, regulations, and policies of our partners, as well as for the obligations outlined below.
We are hiring two positions. One for the westside of Cuyahoga County and the other for the Eastside of Cuyahoga County.
Community Employment Specialist Responsibilities:
Establishing and sustaining relationships with local businesses to facilitate the provision of services, including but not limited to the following services:
- Career Exploration
- Community Based Assessments
- Work Adjustments
- Job Development (Tiers I,II,III or hourly)
- Transportation
- Other Services as contracted
- Make sure all services are offered honestly and in a way that benefits the clients as well as the business or community.
- Ensure that those assigned to sites adhere to the vocational objective, and adjust services as necessary to meet the requirements of referral sources.
- Make sure there is weekly contact with the team and the referral source via phone, email, internet, or in-person.
- Support people in seeking jobs or participating in community activities that are in line with their unique treatment plan.
- Within 90 days after hiring, work toward obtaining CESP and additional expert credentials.
- Form and maintain trustworthy connections with the local businesses in order to address their recruiting needs by filling their permanent positions or temporary positions via a training program.
- Help all those you serve with pre-employment tasks like creating resumes, signing up with OMJ and interviewing techniques.
- As needed, offer on-the-job assistance to make sure the person gets the training and resources they need to develop their capacity for independent employment.
- Create and revise a personal service plan as necessary.
Community Employment Specialist Requirements:
- A four-year college bachelor's degree, 2 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent training.
- Experience with aligning skills and abilities to the employer’s needs and job requirements.
- Proficient with using Microsoft Office, conducting remote interviews, as well as teleconference services, video chats, word processing, and other sophisticated computer skills.
- Previous experience with delivering first-rate customer service in previous roles.
- CESP or CRC required or qualified to take within 90 days
Community Employment Specialist Deliverables:
(Note: Deliverables are reviewed in a quarterly basis)
- After a referral is assigned, personal outreach is finished within 2 business days to schedule services.
- Completed intakes for 10-15 people (or as assigned).
- Keep case notes and paperwork up to date every week (daily preferred)
- Demonstrate billing is completed within 3 days of the services being finished.
- Create and maintain business connections to supply services and promote workplace involvement.
- On an ongoing basis communicate about your progress, training needs, and your involvement with Onebridge as a contractor and a part of the community.
- Provide acceptance, inclusion, and optimism while upholding and maintaining Onebridge Center's goal and values, you can show that you have leadership qualities.
Community Employment Specialist Compensation:
- Generous Pay based on contract (percentage) - No Cap

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff are encouraged to wear a mask when meeting with individuals indoors but it is not required if the staff is vaccinated. All state and local guidelines must be followed.
