Platinum Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in VMWare and storage technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our organization's cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Azure, VMWare, and storage systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development and optimization of our cloud-based solutions.

The position will require 2 days in the office per week for client visits in Arlington, VA (Courthouse location) on Tuesdays/Thursdays.

What you get to do.

  • Design, deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure using Azure services, VMWare technologies, and storage solutions, ensuring scalability, availability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop cloud solutions that align with business needs while adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • Configure and manage virtual machines, networks, storage accounts, and other Azure resources, ensuring optimal resource allocation, high availability, and security.
  • Implement and manage VMWare vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual networking components, to support hybrid cloud environments.
  • Deploy and manage storage systems, such as SAN and NAS, ensuring optimal performance, capacity planning, and data protection in Azure and on-premises environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure components, promptly identifying and resolving any issues or outages to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.
  • Implement and manage Azure security controls, including network security groups, Azure Active Directory, and RBAC permissions, to ensure a secure cloud environment.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
  • Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization activities to enhance the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the cloud infrastructure.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Azure services, VMWare technologies, storage solutions, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), or similar will be advantageous.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Azure services, VMWare, and storage technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, Azure Active Directory, and RBAC permissions.
  • Strong understanding of VMWare vSphere/vCenter, including ESXi hosts, virtual networking, and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience with storage systems, such as SAN and NAS, and a strong understanding of storage provisioning, performance optimization, and data replication.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, and network security principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
