Clinical Data Analyst Job at The Health Plan of West Virginia Inc
Clinical Data Analyst position will gather and analyze healthcare data of the population from multiple sources (e.g. insurance processing, clinical operations, analytical software and other resources) to extract trends and business insights to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of clinical services processes.
Required:
- Must possess a Bachelor or Master’s Degree related to the clinical, behavior health, healthcare, or statistical data fields.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and visualization methods.
- Must possess a working knowledge of quality improvement principles, theory, study design and statistical modeling.
- Previous work in a medical, managed care, or data driven organization(s).

Responsibilities:
- Utilizes databases, analytical software programs, and reporting tools to extract data, generate reports, perform moderate to complex data analysis to identify trends within a population and potential for system/process improvement.
- Knowledgeable and active in support of HEDIS and Star Ratings programs
- Prepares the quantitative measurement and analysis of clinical quality, cost, and experience in utilization activities for assigned projects or clinical areas.
- Interfaces with staff and providers to support overall Population Health Management programs with reporting.
- Interfacing with, gathering information from and preparing data for presentations to various levels of management, committees, internal and external.
- Supports and prepares data regarding utilization of services to be reviewed as part of the Clinical Services and Medical Directors Oversight Committee activities to provide actionable information toward improved efficiency and effectiveness.
- Supports reporting to identify inefficiencies to develop modifications in processes currently being used within Clinical Services.
- Supports reporting requirements as needed for governmental and accreditation processes.
