Chief Financial Officer, CFO Job at Fisher Associates
Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C., headquartered in Rochester NY, with eight offices throughout NY, PA & TX, is searching for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will serve as a key member of the executive team and contributor to the growth and evolution of the firm.
The CFO will motivate, engage, and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, particularly with the Leadership Team, and create and sustain a sense of shared mission, purpose, and accountability related to the company financial goals.
The CFO will be an outstanding communicator, facilitator, and relationship builder both inside the firm and with clients and business partners.
The CFO will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
- Working with CEO and COO in the development of the company’s financial plans, programs, and goals as a strategic partner.
- Supervising the accounting group and directly assists the CEO and COO on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, financial forecasting needs and cash flow matters.
- Managing all processes relating to financial budgets, forecasting, and reporting conducted across the Sector/Service Lines of the company.
- Manage, assess, and mitigate the company’s risk profile.
- Developing financial strategies as well as the management of budgeting processes and capital requests.
- Evaluate the accounting group structure and plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) for individuals.
- Knowledge of the principles of financial management sufficient to direct professional staff and coordinate all aspects involved with the fiscal requirements of consulting engineering.
- Knowledge of consulting engineering financial and budgetary practices to develop annual budget, analyze financial data and patterns, and present financial statements is preferred.
- CFO is expected to become knowledgeable of the company’s strategic business objectives and employee performance objectives.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel as it relates to financial modeling.
- An in-depth understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. (MA, MF or MBA preferred) with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
- Education and/or experience in finance and financial modeling preferred
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
- Experience managing staff
- Proven track record of successfully managing company finances to assist a company in achieving its goals.
