SUMMARY A person in this position functions under the working title of Certified Peer Specialist. Assignments are varied in nature and are performed under the direct supervision of the Recovery Services Director/Certified Peer Support Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes all required paperwork within regulatory timeframes including Strength based assessment, Individual Service plans, progress notes, releases of information, and consent for treatment
- Provides support and encouragement to individuals in the creation and completion of goals
- Assists individuals in the development of self-advocacy skills, independent living skills, educational goals, vocational goals, and Wellness Recovery Action Plans.
- Identifies and provides linkages to community resources and natural supports within the community
- Attends and actively participates in weekly supervision and check-ins
- Assists and mentors individuals in using public transportation
- Maintains own wellness and recovery in order to support individuals in services
- Teaches relapse prevention through identification of triggers, early warning signs, and use of wellness tools
- Maintains a minimum productivity expectation of 65%
- Performs related work as required.

- This position requires regular travel
- High school diploma or GED with lived experience related to mental health and/or substance abuse and has identified as being in recovery for at least 1 year and has completed Certified Peer Support Training.
- Experience working or volunteering with individuals having a mental health or substance abuse diagnosis is a plus.
