Step into your ideal role as a Certified Peer Recovery Mentor. We have an opening at our Grosse Pointe Office.
What You Will Be Doing: The CPRM provides a wide range of support services to clients to assist them in regaining control over their own lives and their own recovery process. Human services activities include individual and/or group counseling and/or programming. Some of the duties the Certified Peer Recovery Mentor will include but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of the disease of substance use disorder through direct experience and coursework.
- Work one on one with consumers to set goals in achieving positive changes as they define it for themselves, to assess progress in achieving goals, and to redefine goals if necessary, in a client centered manner.
- Work with consumers to remove barriers to achieving positive changes and document the process.
- Demonstrated ability to speak, facilitate small and large groups, write clearly, accurately, and effectively for a range of audience and purposes such as reports, advocacy, and in-services.

The ideal candidate will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and time.
- Experience working with persons who have co-occurring disorders.
- Knowledgeable of social resources available to consumers.
- Crisis intervention, conflict resolution and stress management skills.
- Computer skills.
- Flexibility.
