Job Title: CMA (Certified Medical Assistant)

Hours: Ranging between 7am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday; 8:30am - 12:00pm Saturday (once every 4-6 weeks)

Position Summary: Responsible for the coordination of physician contact in the office setting or by telephone. Provides care and treatment of musculoskeletal problems under the direction or order of the orthopedic surgeon.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent (required)
  • Active CMA License (required)
  • CPR certification (preferred)
  • Valid PA Drivers License (required)
  • 6 months of experience as a CMA (preferred)

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in maintaining patient flow in office; escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for the exam, including obtaining vital signs and completing all necessary paperwork.
  • Apply casts, splints, or braces under the direction of the physician.
  • Answers medical questions from patients and assists with patient education.
  • Assists with maintaining the medical area. Ensures that all designated supplies are kept current.
  • Must possess flexibility with doctors’ schedules to ensure coverage at all locations.
  • Records all patient information in EHR according to the LOG system. Documents all phone conversations appropriately in patients charts.
  • Works collaboratively with co-workers. Works with co-workers and supervisor in a positive, professional manner.
