POSITION SUMMARY: The cellar technician II is responsible for all cellar duties pertinent to the production of quality wines. A strong work ethic and acute attention to detail are critical for success in this position. Continuously improving techniques such as racking, blending and harvest operations is expected. Each member of the cellar team is expected to be collaborative and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Safety is of the upmost importance and safety policies must be followed at all times

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate cellar equipment including but not limited to hoists, destemmer/crusher, presses, lees filter, DE filter, cross flow filter, heat exchangers, lift truck and scissors lift
• Shipping and receiving tanker trucks of wine
• Moving and blending wine, ingredient additions to wine tanks, racking wine off of settled lees
• Wine filtration including lees filtration, powder filtration, pad filtration and cross flow filtration
• DO, CO2 and FSO2 adjustments
• Sanitation and general housekeeping
• Chemical inventory management, trace and trace and work order completion

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• At least one to two years of previous wine or beverage production experience
• Ability to accurately calculate figures
• Familiarity with the use of all types of winery equipment is essential
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, ability to converse in Spanish a plus
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to follow work orders and written instructions QUALIFICATIONS:
