Munson Healthcare’s Revenue Cycle Operations are jointly operated by Huron Healthcare and Munson Healthcare. Huron provides strategic Revenue Cycle Operations leadership (managers and above are employed by Huron), while Revenue Cycle associates and supervisors are badged and employed by Munson. Market leaders and hospital, clinic, and physician leadership across Munson’s eight community hospitals and additional clinic locations, are key stakeholders for the Revenue Cycle Operations and critical factors to ongoing Revenue Cycle success.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cash Posting Manager oversees the output and quality of all cash posting functions and collaborates with the PFS Director to identify procedures to improve performance on monthly basis. Manages and monitors office staff performance by motivating productivity. This individual will work independently with other department staff, and creates reports regularly. Provides leadership and direction to ensure designated document management, cash flow, reconciliation, and reporting functions are completed in a timely manner while in compliance with policy and regulations.

This position is responsible for aligning processes and performance with the broader revenue cycle goals and Munson Healthcare objectives and assists in the development and evolution of the overall strategy for Munson Healthcare professional billing operations. The SM assists the CBO System Director with planning, service commitment, budgets and internal quality assessments and controls.

The Cash Posting Manager (CPM) serves as a key promoter of CBO operations and actively participates in building positive working relationships with the Physician offices, other Revenue Cycle departments, clinical providers and practice staff. The CPM acts as a resource for all Munson Healthcare on issues related to professional billing.

Occasional travel to system facilities for work and meetings may be asked

  • Supervises Data Posting staff in the completion of all essential functions including document management, cash posting, accounts receivable, and reconciliation.
  • Monitors quality and productivity levels for both individual staff members and the team as a whole; identifies and re-trains underperforming staff members as needed.
  • Upholds Munson Healthcare’s customer service expectations by interacting with patients, relatives, staff, and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Measures and compares key performance indicators; helps plan and coordinate initiatives to increase performance as needed.
  • Regularly looks for methods of achieving higher levels of performance and ensures goals are consistently and successfully met.
  • Ensures timely posting and proactively investigates and addresses cash posting inefficiencies and errors.
  • Ensures appropriate levels of staff coverage are available for all business days—especially month end.
  • Delegates and monitors responsibilities for all data posting unit staff.
  • Conducts yearly staff performance appraisals and issues disciplinary action when needed.
  • Facilitates and evaluates daily and/or monthly close-out processes; assess daily tasks performed by staff for quality and accuracy.
  • Ensures that all guidelines are followed and all corresponding reconciliation and month-end reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Designs and compiles periodic financial reports for management team.
  • Analyzes data and prepares reports on collection performance, governmental and commercial payer reimbursement, payment arrangements as required/requested.
  • Serves as a resource for internal and external stakeholder questions related to data posting functions.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any technological or process issues encounter throughout daily activities.
  • Regularly reports to Director on any areas for improvement identified within business office procedures and enacts any upper-level recommendations quickly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Management, or another related field
  • Three or more years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle experience required
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Additional five years of experience accepted in lieu of degree

The estimated salary range for this job is $70,000 - $90,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy and Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
