Carrollwood Farms Director of Construction
This position would report to the Farm Manager. The primary responsibility of the farm Director of Construction (DC) is to oversee the various farm construction projects from the renovation of the existing structures to the building of 100 new structures on the farm. The candidate is to have a good understanding of construction management working in the residential sector. Commercial construction management is preferred but not required. The farm will self GC the smaller residential projects and renovations. The larger commercial projects will be outsourced to a third-party GC. The DC will directly be responsible for plan development supervision, purchasing and supervising the residential projects with subs and farm employees. The DC will work with The Carroll Companies Senior Vice President of Mixed-Use Development related to construction of the commercial farm projects while still reporting to the Farm Manager.
The DC will have farm construction employees that report to him/her. Positions that will report to the DC is the working superintendent position, the skilled carpenter position and the general laborer position. These reports are “hands on” positions. The CD will also be required in the initial phase/year to take a “hands on” approach to projects. As the program grows this will change requiring the DC to be more administrative.
